Abhishek Sharma returned to the top of the ICC T20I batting rankings on Wednesday. He scored 113 off 38 balls against New Zealand in Wellington, taking India to a six-wicket victory and a 3-0 series lead.

Abhishek's century came off 35 balls, missing his own record for the fastest century by a full-member batter. He now has four T20I centuries, the most by an Indian, and needs 49 more runs to pass KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya in Indian T20I runs.

Ishan Kishan dropped to third in the rankings after missing the last two matches. Ravindra Jadeja lost the number-one Test all-rounder spot to Marco Jansen after 1,464 days. No Indian bowler is currently in the top ten T20I bowlers.

CricHubb Take

Abhishek's strike rate of 206.42 in 2026 across 1,125 runs shows he has maintained his powerplay dominance even as teams adjust their fields. The absence of any Indian bowler in the top ten rankings suggests the bowling attack's inconsistency may limit India's chances in major tournaments despite the batting depth.
