Abhishek Sharma smashed 61 off 28 balls with seven sixes as India beat Pakistan by 19 runs in the Asian Games men's cricket gold medal match at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin on Saturday. The left-hander reached his fifty in 20 balls and equalled Yuvraj Singh's record for the most sixes by an Indian batter in an India-Pakistan T20I innings.

India posted 211 for six after batting first. Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 51 off 22 balls and Shivam Dube added late runs. Pakistan's Ahmed Daniyal and Arafat Minhas took two wickets each. Hasan Nawaz made 96 in reply.

Abhishek has now hit 104 sixes in T20 cricket in 2026, the second-highest total by an Indian batter in a calendar year. He also reached 400 career T20 sixes in 3,513 balls, the second-fastest player to the milestone.

CricHubb Take

Abhishek's strike rate in the first six overs against Pakistan now sits above 250 across three consecutive limited-overs tournaments. That single number is forcing every opposition to open with spin and accept a 15-over containment plan.
