Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill and Sikandar Raza were named as nominees for the ICC Men's Player of the Month award for September 2026 on Tuesday. Abhishek scored 229 runs in four T20Is against Afghanistan, including a record 30-ball century, while Gill scored 333 runs in two ODIs against West Indies including an unbeaten 223.

Abhishek's 108 off 34 balls in the third T20I was the fastest century by a batter from a Full Member nation, reaching his fifty in 16 balls. He was named Player of the Series after India won 3-0. Gill's 223 not out in Guwahati was the highest individual score in a successful ODI chase and the fastest double-century in the format.

Raza was the leading run-scorer in Zimbabwe's three-match ODI series against Australia, scoring 57, 45 and an unbeaten 81 while also taking two wickets in the final match.

CricHubb Take

Raza's inclusion raises the question of how the ICC weights all-round contributions against pure batting fireworks in a monthly award.
