Hobart Hurricanes have signed Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain for the first eight games of BBL 16 after his successful debut season.
Hobart Hurricanes have signed Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain for the first eight games of KFC BBL 16 after he took 15 wickets in 12 matches during his debut season last year. Rishad won the club's BBL player of the year award in BBL 15.
The 24-year-old will join Adam Zampa in the Hurricanes squad, giving the team two contrasting white-ball leg-spinners. General manager Salliann Beams said Rishad made it clear he wanted to return and the club explored every opportunity to make it happen.
Rishad becomes the first Bangladesh player to feature in the BBL in over a decade after Shakib Al Hasan. The Hurricanes have now signed 17 of their maximum 18 allocated players for the season.

The Hurricanes are prioritising spin options early in the season, betting that two quality leg-spinners can exploit the conditions before the tournament shifts to venues that traditionally favour pace.
