Aiden Markram misses training ahead of Gqeberha Test

Markram did not travel from Durban after the first Test; South Africa hope he recovers in time for Sunday's match.

South Africa opener Aiden Markram was the only absentee from the Proteas' main training session less than 48 hours before the second Test against Australia in Gqeberha. Markram left the Hundred tournament early in August and missed the first ODI against Australia last month, both times for personal reasons. He is expected to train on match eve and feature in a top order that may include debutants Marques Ackerman and Matthew Breetzke.

CricHubb Take

Markram's absence from training combined with his recent personal leave raises the possibility that South Africa may need to adjust their top-order plans if he is not fully fit.
