India opener Shafali Verma said the team's batting unit must review its performance on turning pitches after a middle-order collapse in the Women's Asia Cup opener against Thailand in Dubai. India posted 159 for nine after a strong opening stand, then bowled Thailand out for 65 to win by 94 runs.
Verma top-scored with 64. Deepti Sharma took three wickets for no runs in 1.1 overs. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur said the side cannot take any opponent lightly.
Verma noted Thailand's spinners exploited conditions after the early partnership. She said the batting unit needs to assess its shortcomings despite the comfortable victory.
