Harshita Tomar and Shital Verma were awarded bronze in the women's skiff at the Asian Games on October 2 after China's Xiaoyu Hu and Yuyue Sun were disqualified. The Indian pair had finished fourth on the water with 24 net points.

Japan won gold with 14 net points and Hong Kong, China took silver with 18 points. China had finished third with 28 net points before the disqualification moved India up to the podium.

The result came at Kaiyoh Yacht Harbor in Aichi, Japan. India's men also won silver in the men's skiff event on the same day.

CricHubb Take

The medal came through a ruling rather than a result on the water. It still counts toward India's sailing tally at these Games.
