Shafali Verma scored 64 off 36 balls and Deepti Sharma took three wickets for no runs as India defeated Thailand by 94 runs in their Women's Asia Cup 2026 opener at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on August 30. India reached 159 for nine after slumping from 90 for one to 127 for six on a turning pitch.
Nandini Sharma also claimed three wickets as Thailand were bowled out for 65. Deepti's spell came in 1.1 overs and made her the leading wicket-taker in Women's T20Is.
Shafali Verma said the side would review the middle-order collapse. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur warned the team cannot take any opponent lightly after the win.
