Pathum Nissanka ruled out of Pakistan Test series with hamstring injury

Nissanka will miss the two-Test series against Pakistan starting November 9.

Sri Lanka opener Pathum Nissanka has been ruled out of the two-Test series against Pakistan after failing to recover from a left hamstring injury. Nissanka sustained the injury during Sri Lanka's white-ball tour of England in September and did not receive medical clearance to travel. Lahiru Udara has been named as his replacement and is already in Pakistan with the ODI squad.

CricHubb Take

The loss of Nissanka's runs at the top of the order increases pressure on the middle order, where Sri Lanka will need Kamindu Mendis and Dhananjaya de Silva to deliver bigger scores in the World Test Championship cycle.
