Arshdeep Singh five wickets from 150 T20I scalps
Arshdeep Singh stands on the brink of a historic milestone as India prepare to face New Zealand in Christchurch.
Arshdeep Singh needs five more wickets to become the first Indian to reach 150 T20I wickets ahead of the five-match series against New Zealand that starts on Thursday. The left-arm pacer has taken 145 wickets in 99 matches at an average of 20.30.
Arshdeep has already claimed 17 wickets in 10 T20Is against New Zealand, including a five-wicket haul. He is also 12 scalps away from 300 T20 wickets across all levels after taking 288 in 223 matches.
India named Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the squad for his first T20I appearance in nearly four years, while Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was included but is expected to remain on the bench for the opener at Hagley Oval.

Reaching 150 T20I wickets would place Arshdeep in an elite group that currently contains only eight bowlers worldwide, underlining his rapid rise since debuting in 2022.
