India defended 223 to beat West Indies by 14 runs in the third T20I at Holkar Stadium in Indore on Sunday, taking a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. Arshdeep Singh took 3 for 44 and Naman Dhir claimed 2 for 39 as West Indies fell short at 209 for 7 while chasing 224.

Abhishek Sharma made 69 off 30 balls and Ishan Kishan scored 37 off 18 to build an 108-run stand that carried India to 223 all out. West Indies lost Shai Hope early and Shimron Hetmyer for 43, but Kamil Pooran hit three sixes before Dhir removed him to slow the chase.

Prince Yadav and Nitish Kumar Reddy bowled tight overs that pushed the required rate above 15 per over. Arshdeep returned to dismiss key lower-order batters and seal the win. Kuldeep Yadav was dropped from the playing XI.

The win shows that when dew is absent, India's varied attack can still defend totals even on flat pitches. West Indies will now need to win both remaining matches to take the series.
