Manan Hingrajia batted through the entire day to finish unbeaten on 108 from 274 balls as Gujarat closed on 363 for five in reply to Delhi's 648 for six declared on day three of their Ranji Trophy Group C match at Palam B ground on Tuesday. Hingrajia shared a 124-run fifth-wicket stand with Jaymeet Patel, who scored 72, and remained in company with skipper Chintan Gaja on 41 at stumps. Delhi still hold a 285-run lead. Gujarat lost two wickets in the morning session as Vedant Trivedi was caught behind off Divij Mehra for 38 and Urvil Patel was caught at slip by Ayush Badoni off Hrithik Shokeen for 23. The visitors had reached 98 for two at the end of day two after Delhi declared their innings, which was built around Priyansh Arya's 199 and Badoni's 217. Hingrajia's measured approach yielded just 96 runs on the day, and Gujarat will look to reduce the deficit further on a slow pitch when play resumes on Thursday.

CricHubb Take

Hingrajia's restraint on a wearing surface shows Gujarat can still force a result if they survive the second new ball on day four. Delhi may rue the dropped catch of Gaja on five, which could prove costly on a pitch offering little to the bowlers.
