Mathur credits Badoni partnership after unbeaten fifty in Delhi's dominant day one performance.

Sumit Mathur said batting alongside Ayush Badoni makes scoring runs easier after the left-arm spinner remained unbeaten on 50 in Delhi's 309 for five against Jharkhand. Mathur added an unbroken 128 runs with Badoni, who scored his sixth first-class century and finished on 106.

The partnership followed an alliance of 167 runs between the pair in Delhi's previous match against Gujarat. Mathur has now scored 92 and 50 in consecutive innings, improving on his first-class batting average of 40.25 from 14 matches before this fixture.

Mathur acknowledged he needs to improve his bowling accuracy, having taken only 30 first-class wickets. He said building dot balls and bowling consistently in one spot would force batters to make mistakes rather than relying on their lack of patience.

Mathur's admission about needing to bowl more accurately reveals the gap between his batting and bowling contributions. The 30 first-class wickets across 14 matches show his primary value remains with the bat despite his left-arm spin selection.
