Bhuvneshwar Kumar takes first India wicket in nearly four years
Bhuvneshwar Kumar ended a near four-year wicket drought for India by dismissing Daryl Mitchell in the second T20I.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar claimed his first wicket for India in nearly four years during the second T20I against New Zealand at Hagley Oval on Saturday. The 36-year-old dismissed Daryl Mitchell for six, caught by Tilak Varma at cover point off the final ball of his second over. Kumar had returned to the side after a four-year absence and went wicketless while conceding 49 runs in the series opener. He revealed he never chased the Indian jersey during his time away and credited his family for supporting his comeback. Kumar said having no expectations from himself helped him focus on the work at hand during the four-year gap.

Kumar's early breakthrough shows the value of a bowler who can target the stumps with the new ball rather than relying solely on variations.
