Mohammad Kaif urges patience with Bhuvneshwar Kumar's India return

Mohammad Kaif says Bhuvneshwar Kumar needs time to adjust after four years out of the India side following two expensive T20I outings.

Former India batter Mohammad Kaif has called for patience with Bhuvneshwar Kumar after the veteran's expensive returns in the first two T20Is against New Zealand. Bhuvneshwar conceded 49 runs in four overs in Christchurch and followed that with one for 50 in the second match.

Kaif said it is unrealistic to expect immediate wickets after a four-year absence and noted the difference between IPL and international cricket. He added that conditions in New Zealand have favoured batting and that Bhuvneshwar's overall figures look better when broken down over by over.

Kaif urged the 36-year-old to address his no-ball problems but said it is too early to judge his comeback after just two games. He also praised young pacer Prince Yadav's impact after replacing Mayank Yadav in the second match.

Bhuvneshwar's recall was always a gamble on experience over current form, and two ordinary games do not yet prove whether that experience can still translate at international level.
