Bhuvneshwar Kumar walked back into India's T20I side after 1,446 days for the fifth match against West Indies. The 36-year-old stepped in for Arshdeep Singh, who was ruled out with a shoulder injury.

Kumar's last T20I came against New Zealand in November 2022. He earned the call-up after claiming 28 wickets for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2026. West Indies captain Shai Hope won the toss and chose to field in the rain-shortened nine-over game.

Former India batter WV Raman said the recall points to a thin bench in India's pace attack.
