Cameron Green set to bat at four or five in Cape Town Test despite injury

Green returns as a specialist batter for the series decider, with Renshaw also in contention for the middle order.

Cameron Green will bat at four or five for Australia in the Cape Town Test, even though his abdominal tear still rules him out of bowling. The 27-year-old hasn't sent down a ball since the ODI series, yet he looked sharp in the Newlands nets.

Green said he's happy to slot in wherever the team needs him; he's done the job at both four and five before. That leaves Australia with a straight choice between him and Matthew Renshaw, who impressed in Durban while Green was out.

A win at Newlands would seal the series for the tourists.

CricHubb Take

The real test for Australia isn't where Green bats, but whether they can keep him fully fit through a packed home summer if they rely on him purely as a batter.
