India A were bowled out for 113 in the first innings of the opening unofficial Test against New Zealand A at the Bert Sutcliffe Oval in Lincoln. A grass-covered pitch helped the seamers and five batters recorded ducks.

KL Rahul went first ball from the eighth delivery he faced. Yashasvi Jaiswal managed 17 off 45, Devdutt Padikkal 32 off 77. Sai Sudharsan, captain Dhruv Jurel and Washington Sundar all finished on zero. Yash Rathod was left unbeaten on 44 from 49 balls.

Simon Keene took five for 24 in 11.3 overs while Zak Gibson claimed three for 29. India A lost their last five wickets for 55 runs.

CricHubb Take

The next Test squad will be picked on the back of this tour. If the established names keep getting out cheaply on seaming pitches, the selectors may have to look elsewhere for the middle order.
