India completed a 270-run victory over England in the one-off women's Test at Lord's on day four. England were bowled out for 186 after Sophie Ecclestone scored a maiden Test fifty. Heather Knight and Tammy Beaumont fell cheaply in their final international innings.

The result marks India's first win in a women's Test at Lord's. Yastika Bhatia became the first woman to score a century in a Lord's Test. The match came 50 years after the first women's ODI at the venue.

Heather Knight announced her retirement from international cricket at the end of the game. The 35-year-old made 320 international appearances, an England women's record. She had led England to the 2017 World Cup title.

The result shows how quickly a side can move from a dominant home position to a heavy defeat when top-order collapses compound each other across two innings.
