Rajasthan Royals signed Railways batter Ravi Singh for 95 lakh at the IPL 2026 auction. The 25-year-old ticket collector from Howrah has averaged 58.2 across seven Ranji Trophy innings this season.

Singh worked as a ticket collector in Howrah before shifting to Lucknow to train under coach Saurabh Dubey. He impressed selectors through strong performances in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy. His IPL season was cut short by injury after one game.

Singh said he has been preparing to face Jofra Archer in the nets and has drawn advice from Rajasthan Royals teammates Dhruv Jurel and Yashasvi Jaiswal on handling high-level conditions.

CricHubb Take

Singh's selection shows how consistent domestic runs can still open IPL doors even without franchise exposure. His ability to translate white-ball power into first-class consistency will determine whether the investment pays off.
