Gurnoor Brar joins North Zone for Duleep Trophy semi-final after Sri Lanka series call-up.
Punjab and India fast bowler Gurnoor Brar has been added to North Zone's squad for their Duleep Trophy semi-final against South Zone. The match begins on August 30 at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground 2 in Bengaluru. Brar joins straight after India's Test series against Sri Lanka, where he was part of the national squad but did not play. Selectors are giving him more red-ball cricket following his call-up.
Central Zone will face East Zone in the first semi-final at Ground 1 on the same date. Auqib Nabi is exploring a county stint subject to his visa paperwork coming through. Brar was part of the Indian squad for the two-Test series against Sri Lanka but wasn't given a game there.
The addition comes as North Zone prepares for the semi-final clash. Brar will join the squad ahead of the August 30 match at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.
