Shubman Gill backs Gurnoor Brar after four-wicket haul in Wellington
Gill credits Brar's consistency as India secure four-run DLS win in Wellington.
Shubman Gill said Gurnoor Brar's consistency will be key to his success after the seamer took four for 30 in the second ODI. Gurnoor Brar was named Player of the Match for his performance in India's four-run DLS victory. He bowls consistently in the 140-142 kmph range and said he prefers bowling hard lengths rather than being carried away by his pace.
Brar said he enjoyed bowling in New Zealand conditions after claiming his personal best ODI figures in his 11th match. New Zealand were dismissed for 134, their lowest all-out total against India at home in ODIs. India reached 113 for seven before rain stopped play.
Ravi Shastri praised Gurnoor Brar's growing confidence and understanding of his strengths. Virat Kohli surpassed Ricky Ponting's record for most ODI runs against New Zealand during the match. Devon Conway was ruled out of the remaining ODI series after suffering concussion.
