Suryansh Shedge takes 4 for 35 for India A against Australia A

Shedge's 4 for 35 offers India a potential solution to the pace-bowling all-rounder shortage created by Hardik Pandya and Nitish Kumar Reddy's injuries.

Suryansh Shedge claimed career-best List A figures of 4 for 35 for India A in the first one-dayer against Australia A in Puducherry on Tuesday. The 23-year-old Mumbai all-rounder dismissed Will Sutherland, Todd Murphy and Spencer Johnson in his second and third spells after conceding 11 in his opening over.

Shedge's performance comes with Hardik Pandya and Nitish Kumar Reddy sidelined by injuries, opening a potential pathway into India's white-ball setup. He said he adjusted his length after the first over and used scrambled seam deliveries to exploit the conditions.

The all-rounder spent time at the BCCI Centre of Excellence recovering from an injury earlier in the season and credited the break with improving his fitness and clarity. He has played three T20Is for India across three countries in June and July.

CricHubb Take

Shedge's emergence provides a ready-made replacement option if Hardik Pandya's injury record continues to limit his availability for the 2027 World Cup cycle.
