Central Zone and East Zone finished with identical first-innings totals of 266 after Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's 92 helped East Zone match the target. Harsh Dubey had earlier taken four wickets for Central Zone.
Shami and Mukesh Kumar, who have been overlooked by India selectors recently, have delivered for East Zone with the ball in the semifinal.
