Abhishek Sharma says West Indies had a plan against him in Indore T20I

Abhishek Sharma explained how he countered West Indies' plans during his 69 in the third T20I, which helped India win by 14 runs.

Abhishek Sharma said West Indies opened with an off-spinner and stacked the off side against him, so he adjusted his shot selection on the way to 69 off 30 balls. India reached 223 and held on to win by 14 runs, taking a 2-1 lead.

He told reporters he gave Roston Chase the first over, then started finding gaps once he read the field. His job was simple: take the powerplay down, get runs on the board before the bowlers settled. He also backed Punjab teammate Naman Dhir, who returned 2 for 39, and said India couldn't afford to ease off because West Indies can still chase from 50 for five.

CricHubb Take

India's next series against spin-heavy sides will test whether this powerplay approach travels or if teams just bowl wider and wait for the middle overs.
