Ishan Kishan ruled out of second New Zealand T20I with groin injury
Ishan Kishan misses the second T20I against New Zealand after suffering a groin strain in the series opener.
India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has been ruled out of the second T20I against New Zealand in Christchurch on Saturday due to a low-grade right adductor strain sustained during the series opener. The BCCI confirmed the injury on Friday.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is the leading candidate to replace Kishan in the playing XI. Batting coach Sitanshu Kotak said Sooryavanshi is one of the strongest options available. Kumar Kushagra has been added to the squad as cover.
India won the first match by four wickets after chasing 226. The series continues in Wellington on 27 October.

Kishan's absence forces India to decide whether to persist with Sooryavanshi at No. 3 or revert to a more experienced middle-order structure for the remaining matches.
