Abhishek Sharma reveals counter to West Indies plan against him
Abhishek Sharma explains how he adjusted to West Indies' off-side trap.
Abhishek Sharma said he had to play better than West Indies' plan after scoring 69 off 30 balls in the third T20I in Indore on Sunday. The left-hander noted that Roston Chase opened the bowling with off-spin and the field was set on the off side.
Abhishek said he gave the spinner respect in the first over before exploring more scoring options once the plan became clear. He added that India wanted to remain ruthless and not allow any comeback after seeing West Indies' fightback in Ranchi.
India won by 14 runs to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.

The adjustment shows that Abhishek now treats field placements as information rather than restrictions. That mindset turns pre-planned traps into invitations once he sees the gaps.
