Craig Overton and Sophie Luff win PCA Player of the Year awards
Craig Overton and Sophie Luff swept the PCA Player of the Year awards after standout seasons for Somerset.
Craig Overton and Sophie Luff picked up the PCA’s top honours for 2026. Overton went home with four trophies: Men’s Player of the Year, Domestic Overall MVP, County Championship Player of the Year and a place in the Men’s Team of the Year.
The 32-year-old all-rounder scored 951 runs and took 76 wickets across formats. His unbeaten 79 in the Vitality Blast quarter-final steered Somerset to Finals Day.
Luff became the first winner of the Women’s Player of the Year since 2021 who has not played international cricket. She passed 1,000 runs for the season and was also named in the Women’s Team of the Year.

Luff’s award quietly underlines how the domestic schedule alone can now launch a player into the England conversation, even without an international pathway.
