Jasprit Bumrah has been recalled to India's Test squad for the two-match series against New Zealand beginning November 19. The squad is largely similar to the one that faced Sri Lanka, with Bumrah returning after missing that series. Rishabh Pant's inclusion is subject to fitness clearance after an injury sustained while captaining Rest of India in the Irani Cup.

BCCI sources indicate Bumrah will be rested from the ODI series to manage his workload ahead of the Tests. Shubman Gill will captain the first three ODIs before Shreyas Iyer takes over for the final two. Anshul Kamboj and Akash Deep have been added as extra seam options.

B. Sai Sudharsan returns to the squad in place of Sarfaraz Khan. The Test squad includes Shubman Gill as captain, Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul as vice-captain, Devdutt Padikkal, Dhruv Jurel, Ravindra Jadeja, Prasidh Krishna, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Siraj.
