India and Pakistan will contest the Asian Games men's cricket gold medal after winning their respective semifinals on Thursday.
India will meet Pakistan in the gold medal match of the Asian Games men's cricket tournament on October 3 after both teams won their semifinals on Thursday. India defeated Sri Lanka by 124 runs in the second semifinal at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin, Japan.
Ishan Kishan scored an unbeaten 80 from 46 balls and Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets in his opening over as Sri Lanka were bowled out for 45 in 9.5 overs. Pakistan earlier beat Bangladesh by six wickets in a rain-shortened 13-over match, chasing 112 with Abdul Samad finishing 30 not out from 15 balls.
Both teams advanced without playing quarterfinals after rain washed out those matches. The final will be played at the same venue, with the gold medal at stake for the defending champions.
