Saurashtra's last two wickets added 46 runs to take the visitors past Karnataka's first-innings total of 342 on the third day of their Ranji Trophy match at Alur. Parth Bhut and Jaydev Unadkat combined for a 40-run stand before Bhut was run out attempting a second run.

Arpit Vasavada made 65 and Sammar Gajjar scored 79 in Saurashtra's 349. Karnataka must now chase an outright win after earning just one point from their opening match against Andhra.

Mayank Agarwal missed the day's play with a finger injury. Karnataka reached 92 for two in their second innings with eight wickets remaining.

CricHubb Take

Karnataka's failure to close out the tail shows how lower-order partnerships can shift match points even on flat pitches.
