Saurashtra's lower order again denied Karnataka the first-innings lead, forcing the hosts to chase victory on the final day.

CricHubb22 Oct 2026

Saurashtra's last two wickets added 46 runs to finish seven ahead of Karnataka's 342 on day three of their Ranji Trophy match at Alur on Tuesday. Parth Bhut made 28 and Jaydev Unadkat 11 in a 40-run stand before Bhut was run out attempting a second run.

Arpit Vasavada scored 65 and Sammar Gajjar 79 as Saurashtra recovered from 178 for five. Karnataka dropped three catches off Gajjar. Mayank Agarwal missed the second innings after injuring a finger while fielding.

Karnataka lead by 92 with eight wickets left and need an outright win after taking one point from their opener against Andhra.

CricHubb Take

Karnataka's inability to close out the tail in consecutive seasons points to a recurring fielding and tactical softness that visiting sides have learned to exploit.
