Josh Hazlewood took six for 49 as Australia wrapped up a 214-run win over South Africa on the fifth morning at Kingsmead. Set 421 to win, the hosts folded for 206.
Aiden Markram fought hardest, making 75 before Mitchell Starc found the edge and the last four wickets went down for five runs in 16 balls once the second new ball was taken. Hazlewood had already broken the 69-run stand between Markram and Wiaan Mulder.
Matthew Renshaw scored 190 and 82, then picked up his first Test wicket, leaving Australia 1-0 up with two to play.

Renshaw's double contribution raises the question of whether Australia will keep him at the top even when their middle-order regulars return, or whether his value now lies in being the all-round insurance policy.
