Sam Harper and Nic Maddinson added to Australia Test squad
Harper and Maddinson joined the squad after Josh Inglis fractured his finger and Cameron Green suffered an abdominal strain.
Australia have included wicketkeeper Sam Harper and batter Nic Maddinson in their squad for the three-match Test series against South Africa. Josh Inglis suffered a fractured right index finger and will miss the first Test in Durban. Cameron Green's participation in the opener remains uncertain after he sustained a lower abdominal strain in the final ODI. Harper scored 128 for Australia A against India A in Puducherry and earned his maiden international call-up after a career-best 677-run Sheffield Shield season for Victoria. Maddinson, who has not played first-class cricket since treatment for testicular cancer in 2025, was named New South Wales captain despite missing the entire Shield season last summer. The series begins on October 9 in Durban and forms part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle.
