Sri Lanka thrash Pakistan by eight wickets to reach tri-series final
Madushanka's 5 for 34 helped Sri Lanka crush Pakistan and end England's tri-series hopes.
Sri Lanka dismissed Pakistan for 110 in 25.3 overs and chased the target in 18.1 overs to secure a place in the ODI tri-series final on Tuesday. Dilshan Madushanka took career-best figures of five for 34 as Pakistan suffered their second-lowest ODI total at home.
Kamindu Mendis remained unbeaten on 62 off 60 balls to complete the chase with eight wickets in hand. Pakistan lost four of their five specialist batters for single figures and never recovered after slumping to 64 for six.
England needed Pakistan to win to stay in contention for the final but are now eliminated with one match left. Sri Lanka will meet Pakistan again in the title clash on October 31.
