Karun Nair's unbeaten 81 guided Karnataka's recovery on day three, though Andhra retain the advantage heading into the final day.

Karun Nair stayed unbeaten on 81 as Karnataka reached 176 for four in their second innings against Andhra on day three at Vijayawada. The 34-year-old helped them wipe out a 144-run first-innings deficit after KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal fell early.

Nair added 94 for the fourth wicket with debutant Manvanth Kumar, who made 44. Captain R. Smaran was 21 not out alongside Nair when stumps were called, leaving Karnataka 32 runs ahead.

Andhra had posted 418 in their first innings, S.V. Rahul 119 of them, while Shikhar Shetty claimed six for 115. The first session on day four will decide whether Andhra can push for victory.

CricHubb Take

Karnataka's only real hope now rests on how long Nair can bat on day four—if he falls early, the 144-run deficit will likely decide the match before lunch.
