The India-West Indies three-match ODI series produced a scoring rate of 7.43 runs per over, the highest in any bilateral series of three or more matches. The previous record was 7.15 runs per over, set by England against New Zealand in 2015. India won the series 2-1 after victories in the first two matches and a five-wicket defeat in the finale.

West Indies posted 295 for seven, 405 for seven and 352 for five across the three matches. India responded with 300 for two, 406 for two and 351 for seven. Shai Hope scored an unbeaten 162 to lead the record chase in the third ODI at New Chandigarh. KL Rahul finished unbeaten on 129 in the same match.

Head coach Gautam Gambhir questioned whether the batting conditions prepared the side adequately for the 2027 World Cup. Captain Shubman Gill said fielding and death bowling require improvement before that tournament.

The series exposed India's bowling depth at a time when Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel remain unavailable. Their return will test whether the attack can regain control on less helpful pitches.
