South African batter Lhuan-dre Pretorius scored an unbeaten 188 off 79 balls for the Titans against the Knights in the CSA T20 Challenge on Friday. He struck 15 fours and 13 sixes at a strike rate of 237.97 and fell 12 runs short of the first double century in men's T20 cricket. Pretorius reached his fifty in 24 balls, his hundred in 40 balls and his 150 in 58 balls. The Titans posted 267 for three, the second-highest total in CSA T20 Challenge history. His innings surpassed Chris Gayle's previous record of 175 not out for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors in the 2013 IPL. Pretorius had scored a T20I century against Namibia last month and now holds the longest innings in the format by balls faced alongside Aaron Finch and Marcus Stoinis.

CricHubb Take

Pretorius's domestic breakthrough will intensify calls for his inclusion in South Africa's T20 World Cup squad next year, especially with the left-hander already showing he can dominate international attacks.
