278 runs — Tanmay sets new T20 school record
Seventeen-year-old Tanmay Chaudhary hit 278 in a T20 quarter-final, the highest score recorded in Delhi school cricket this season.
Tanmay Chaudhary scored 278 runs off 77 balls in a quarter-final of the Schools Total T20 Tournament, hitting 22 fours and 27 sixes. The Delhi Under-19 batter also struck eight consecutive sixes across two overs.
Tanmay has already represented Delhi at Under-19 level and played in the Delhi Premier League for East Delhi Riders. His father Satish Chaudhary said the 17-year-old has scored around 100 centuries in local cricket and at least ten double centuries.
The knock follows an unbeaten 228 off 74 balls last year and a 180 in the same tournament earlier this week. Modern School, Barakhamba, reached 413 for none and won by 392 runs.

Scores like 278 and 311 in twenty-over games are no longer isolated; they show the gap between school and professional cricket is now measured in format rather than skill.
