Marco Jansen claimed five wickets as Australia were bowled out for 99 in their first innings on the third day in Gqeberha. South Africa enforced the follow-on with a lead of 326 runs.

Jansen also scored 85 in the first innings and effected a run-out in Australia's second innings. His all-round contribution has placed South Africa in a position to level the three-match series.

Australia lost Nic Maddinson for a duck to Kagiso Rabada before stumps on day three. The visitors trail by 301 runs with seven wickets remaining and two days left in the match.

CricHubb Take

Jansen's dual impact with bat and ball has redefined South Africa's options. A lower-order batter who can also bowl long spells reduces the need to carry a specialist all-rounder, allowing the side to strengthen its pace attack without sacrificing runs in the lower order.
