Australia beat South Africa by 45 runs on DLS in rain-affected third ODI
Australia win the dead rubber by 45 runs on DLS but South Africa claim the series 2-1; Green and Renshaw sustain injuries before the Tests.
Australia posted 322 for 9 after half-centuries from Alex Carey and Mitchell Marsh, then restricted South Africa to 145 for 4 when rain ended the chase. The visitors won by 45 runs on the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method, but South Africa took the series 2-1.
Xavier Bartlett took two early wickets and Adam Zampa claimed two more in the middle overs. Ryan Rickelton remained unbeaten on 71 but lacked support as the required rate climbed. Injuries to Cameron Green and Matthew Renshaw overshadowed the result ahead of the upcoming Test series.
Green suffered an abdominal strain while batting and Renshaw was struck on the forearm while fielding. South Africa also lost Tony de Zorzi to injury, adding to concerns before the Test series begins next week.
