Mitchell Starc reached 450 Test wickets on the third day of the second Test against South Africa in Gqeberha. The left-arm pacer dismissed Wiaan Mulder on the final delivery of the 50th over to achieve the milestone.

Starc became the fourth Australian to reach 450 Test wickets, joining Shane Warne, Nathan Lyon and Glenn McGrath. He also broke McGrath's record as the fastest bowler to reach the landmark in terms of balls bowled, achieving the feat in 20,577 deliveries compared to McGrath's 23,474.

Scott Boland claimed five wickets in the innings while Temba Bavuma scored an unbeaten century to lead South Africa's fightback. The hosts reached 242 for seven after being reduced to 110 for six earlier in the innings.

CricHubb Take

Starc's achievement highlights how left-arm pace has evolved as a weapon in Test cricket. His ability to maintain express pace across 109 Tests while swinging the ball both ways sets him apart from previous left-arm greats who relied more on accuracy and variations over raw speed.
