Australia recalls Marsh and Head for ODI tours; Labuschagne omitted after poor form
Marsh and Head return to Australia ODI squad; Labuschagne dropped after poor recent form.
Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head are back in Australia's ODI squad for the tours of Zimbabwe and South Africa. Marnus Labuschagne is out of the 17-man group.
Labuschagne's dip in form has left him on the outside looking in. The selectors have made their call ahead of the 2027 World Cup cycle, and his name is missing from the list that went out on Monday.
Marsh and Head will get chances to show what they can do across the two tours. Both players offer balance with bat and ball, and the shorter format rewards exactly that kind of utility right now.
CricHubb Take
Labuschagne's omission leaves a gap in the middle order that Australia will have to fill with players who can rotate the strike rather than anchor it, and whoever steps up will likely need to do so without the cushion of an extended run.
