Mohammed Siraj secures first Ranji win as Hyderabad captain
Mohammed Siraj secured his first Ranji Trophy win as Hyderabad captain in an innings victory over Tripura.
Mohammed Siraj led Hyderabad to an innings and 40-run victory over Tripura in his first Ranji Trophy match as captain on Tuesday. The win came on a red-soil pitch where spinners took 27 of the 30 wickets that fell across both innings.
Tanay Thyagarajan finished with nine wickets for the match, including six in the second innings. Siraj took two wickets in Tripura's second innings after going wicketless in the first.
Siraj said the victory and bonus point gave the team a significant boost heading into the rest of the season.

Siraj's willingness to bowl on an unhelpful surface and still finish with wickets shows he retains the domestic-level intensity that first took him to the India side, which matters if he faces another workload-management rotation debate later in the summer.
