Mohammed Siraj said he still has the same hunger and passion that he had when he made his Hyderabad debut a decade ago. The pacer led his side to an innings and 40-run victory over Tripura in his first match as captain. He credited mentor Wasim Jaffer for keeping the team focused throughout the game.

Siraj took two wickets in the second innings after going wicketless in the first. Left-arm spinner Tanay Thyagarajan claimed six wickets in the second innings to finish with nine for the match. Hyderabad's spinners took 27 of the 30 wickets that fell across both innings on a red-soil surface.

Siraj said the effort the bowlers put into the pitch made it better for fast bowlers despite initial conditions that did not favour pace. He added that winning with a bonus point was a big boost for the season.
