Andhra host Hyderabad in Ranji Trophy Elite Group B match
Andhra and Hyderabad meet in a Group B contest with both sides looking for early-season momentum.
Andhra will face Hyderabad in a Ranji Trophy Elite Group B match at the ACA Stadium in Mulapadu starting Sunday. The two sides share a common cricketing culture twelve years after the split that created separate teams.
Andhra enter the contest on the back of a strong showing against Karnataka in the opening round. Spinners T Vijay, Lalith Mohan and Saurabh Kumar took 15 of the 19 wickets that fell as Andhra secured a first-innings lead.
Hyderabad captain Mohammed Siraj will lead the side before joining India's tour of New Zealand. He will be keen to secure a second win as captain before departing for the Test series that begins on November 19.
CricHubb Take
Siraj's presence gives Hyderabad an edge in experience, but Andhra's recent success against stronger opposition suggests the home side could spring a surprise if their spinners find the right length early.
