Mukesh Choudhary takes five wickets in Irani Cup for Rest of India

The left-arm seamer's first five-wicket haul in first-class cricket kept Rest of India in contention despite J&K's first-innings lead.

Mukesh Choudhary took five for 78 as Rest of India restricted Jammu and Kashmir to 278 on day two of the Irani Cup on 2 October 2026. J&K took a 41-run first-innings lead after Rest of India were bowled out for 237 on day one.

Choudhary, who represents Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, dismissed Shubham Khajuria, Qamran Iqbal, Kanhaiya Wadhawan and Paras Dogra. Akash Deep took three for 43. J&K's Paras Dogra made 75 and Abdul Samad scored 57.

Rest of India reached 24 for one in their second innings at stumps, trailing by 17 runs. CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad posted an Instagram story congratulating Choudhary on his five-wicket haul.
