Naman Dhir remained unbeaten on 24 from six balls as rain forced the fifth T20I between India and West Indies to be abandoned at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday. The 24-year-old struck three sixes and one four after walking in at number six with India at 82 for four in the rain-shortened nine-over contest. Dhir hit a six off his first ball and added 20 runs from the next five deliveries he faced.

India finished on 118 for five from 7.4 overs after losing the toss and being asked to bat first. Ishan Kishan scored 30 from 10 balls at the top of the order, while Shreyas Iyer made 22 from 14 deliveries. The series finished level at 2-2 after persistent rain prevented any further play.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar returned to India's playing eleven for the first time in 1,446 days but did not get a chance to bowl. The 36-year-old replaced Nitish Kumar Reddy, who was ruled out due to illness. Arshdeep Singh was passed fit but remained on the bench as cover for the experienced seamer.

CricHubb Take

Dhir's six-ball innings is too small a sample to confirm his T20I credentials, yet it came against a West Indies side that had already defended totals successfully in this series. The timing matters because India face five T20Is in New Zealand starting October 22, where the batting depth will be tested without Hardik Pandya. Whether Dhir earns a longer look depends on how the selectors weigh six explosive deliveries against established options already in the squad.
