Naman Dhir remained unbeaten on 42 off 15 balls in record chase
Naman Dhir's unbeaten 42 off 15 balls sealed India's highest successful T20I chase against New Zealand.
Naman Dhir remained unbeaten on 42 off 15 balls to help India chase down 226 and complete their highest successful T20I run chase. Dhir came to the crease with India needing 55 from five overs and sealed the four-wicket win with a six off the fourth ball of the final over.
His innings included five fours and two sixes and featured several edges that cleared the infield. Dhir also struck 24 off six balls against West Indies in Bengaluru last week, showing the same willingness to attack from the first delivery.
India captain Shreyas Iyer praised Dhir's composure and said the 26-year-old gives the side options against left-arm spinners and right-handers on slow surfaces. Dhir has now played five T20Is and averages 30.75 with a strike rate of 186.36.

Dhir's value lies in his refusal to take guard; he treats every innings as a finish rather than a start, a trait India have lacked since Rinku Singh's emergence.
