Rain ended the fifth T20I between India and the West Indies after 7.4 overs of a nine-over contest at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, leaving the five-match series drawn at 2-2. India reached 118 for five, with Naman Dhir unbeaten on 24 off six balls after the match was reduced due to persistent showers.

Ishan Kishan made 30 off 10 balls and Abhishek Sharma hit a six before falling to Keemo Paul. Sanju Samson scored 16 off seven balls and Shreyas Iyer made 22 off 14. Naman Dhir struck 16 runs off his first three deliveries, equalling Dinesh Karthik's record for the most runs by an Indian batter off the opening three balls of an innings.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was added to the squad after Arshdeep Singh suffered a shoulder injury while batting in the fourth match, but rain prevented his return to India colours after four years.

CricHubb Take

The series result masks a deeper pattern: India still lack a death bowler who can consistently defend totals above 200. That gap will be exposed again when the margins are tighter.
